recall Washington, D.C. (Aug 29, 2007 17:27 EST) M&J Engineering is recalling about 1,500 swivels for scuba masks.

The swivel, which is attached to a diving mask, could separate while diving. This will result in a sudden loss of the diver's air supply, causing the diver to engage in emergency ascent. This poses a risk of decompression sickness due to rapid ascent or drowning.

recall SCUBAPRO is conducting a voluntary recall of the X650 second stage regulator. A manufacturing error could cause the main housing of some regulators to change shape over time, and the cover and diaphragm to become dislodged. If this occurs, air flow will be interrupted and the regulator will no longer function.

Only X650 second stage regulators purchased from authorized Scubapro dealers from November 2004 through May 2006, are affected by this recall. You can determine if you have one of these units by looking for a visible raised bump located on the right side of the regulator between the letter “C” and where the mouthpiece attaches to the regulator body.

Kirby Morgan Dive Systems, Inc. – Safety Notice #1 of 2007

A KMDSI dealer recently received three SL-17B helmet shells for insert repair. Upon receipt it was noticed that the shells had been painted. Because there was no documentation of previous repair or refinishing, the dealer informed the customer that no work could be done until all the paint had been removed and a complete inspection performed.

A visual inspection inside of all three helmets showed an obvious irregular finish around the regulator mount area. Once the paint was removed around the irregular area it was noticed that the whole lower section of the helmet had been previously removed and replaced with non-laminate filler.

Halcyon Voluntary Recall of Select Explorer 40 BC's (Serial Numbers Listed Below)

Halcyon Manufacturing has identified a very small number of Halcyon Explorer-40 BC's sold after July 2005 that could develop problems over time. In these few units it is possible that the over pressure valve (OPV) could delaminate, causing the BC to leak. It is unlikely that most of these units will experience any problems; yet, given its rigorous desire to produce only the finest quality equipment, Halcyon would like to ensure this problem does not affect the safety or convenience of our customers.
