Is this a result of the military actions there now. Not sure how safe I would consider it working there now anyway.

No it is notjing to do with the coup.
This changes applies to 'visa on demard' the free 30 days on entry.
As I understand it, you can still get multiple reenty visas which last for 2/3 months depending on type, although they are not now so easy to get in nearby Penang.

If you are working in Thailand you would be very foolish to do so without a workpermit, and this will have no impact on legally employed persons.

p.s. I fully support the coup, Thaksin was far more dangerous to Thailand than any military government!!!!!!!!!!

They don’t issue any double entry visa for tourist anymore..
So singel entry 60 days and then you can get another 30 day at a immigration office inside the country after that you have to leave the country to get a new singel entry visa..

So it’s actually not that different from before.
They only stop the 30 day visa trips and want you to go and apply for a 60 day tourist (singel entry) visa instead..

They try to get to all people that work illegal in the country ( I understand them)
So if you comes as tourist there is not much change from before..
Not many tourist stays over 90 days in the country and the one who does can just get over the boarder and get a new single entry for a new 60 days that can extends for 30 days more.

yes, I understand them as well, ... Tax- of course..., but then they should make it able for the "owners" 2 apply for more workpermits. I heard they work on that one... Laughing

Yea lets hope they come up with soemthinge good...

At this mooment its very hard to do it legal.
You have to show 1M bath vor every extra "farang" and i think it is 3 more thai on the payroll for every new workpermit..

I hear a little bit diffrent depending on what lawyer you talk to..
