Once again Buddy Dive Resort, Bonaire’s premium (dive) resort initiates a program for divers as well as non-divers that combines nature education with fun and entertainment.
The well known Dutch photographers Dos & Bertie Winkel will spend three weeks in December at Buddy Dive Resort to teach and educate the participants of the Planet Ocean Fest on (digital) photography skills by means of seminars and workshops. “A majority of the underwater photographers would love to improve theirs skills. Therefore this truly is an event for beginners, but also photographers that have been taking pictures for years who would like to gain more knowledge in the field of digital photography”, says Dos Winkel.
Dos Winkel is not only known for his fantastic underwater photography, but also for his “Eye on…” tv documentaries, which won the Gold Camera at the Int. Film & Video Festival in Los Angeles and the Gold World Medial at the Int. competitions of the New York Festivals and will be shown during the Planet Ocean Feast. Bertie Winkel specialized on portraits of people, as well as animals.
“We are specially happy to have Dos & Bertie Winkel as hosts for our Planet Ocean Fest since they, having spent several years on Bonaire, know the island so well”, explain Michelle van der Valk and Paul Coolen, the couple that runs Buddy Dive Resort. “Together with Buddy Dive’s on premises digital photo-shop and our top dive operation, we can present an exciting and highly professional program for that week.”
After the Kid’s Sea Camp in June and the Marine Life Education Program with Anna and Ned DeLoach in September, this is the third annual nature event that Buddy Dive Resort initiated.
All of the Buddy Dive Resort guests during the first three weeks of December are invited to participate in the Planet Ocean Fest. From December 1st until December 21st, when booking a Drive&Dive package, every second diver will dive for free.*
