The Underwater Sculpture Gallery in Grenada, West Indies is an exciting new project started in May 2006 by sculptor and PADI OWSI Jason Taylor, with the support of the Grenadian Ministry of Tourism. It is a unique and revolutionary artistic enterprise which celebrates the richness of Caribbean culture, highlights environmental processes and provides a captivating and fascinating dive site for scuba divers and snorkellers. All the sculptures are designed to form a stretch of artificial reef, to help re-juvenate an area of coral decimated by recent tropical storms.
In the long term the sculptures will form an ever changing exhibition as nature colonizes the surface and the sea and tidal movement shapes the texture. Thus becoming a fascinating transient living work of art.
Jason Taylor is now nearing the end of this project and is now looking for new commissions and future projects.

seems to be the new trend - reefs gone, fish killed, hey who cares we build a sculpture park or a atlantis u/w disney world  . but i have to admit it looks interesting enough to dive it  . |
