Hidden treasure is luring divers to Indian River County.
Treasure hunters said millions of dollars in loot waits to be recovered from the 1715 fleet of Spanish ships that sank during a fierce storm between Fort Pierce and Cape Canaveral.
Jeff Milne has been treasure hunting for years. From the Spanish fleet, he has found copper coins, pottery shards, grenades, a whalebone eardrum and even a gold bar with tax stamps and markings valued at about $20,000.
The treasure was found by Corrigan's Wreck south of Wabasso Beach.
But Milne also notes that treasure hunting doesn't come cheap. A dive can cost him $20,000 a season -- and sometimes you don't find anything.
Divers from other ships have found gold rings, coins, a bronze cross, pottery shards, an anchor, cannon balls and ship rigging.
