More than £10,000 worth of prizes will be available to the winners and runners-up at the 2007 British Underwater Image Festival. The festival is to be held at the Go Diving! show at Birmingham's NEC on 16-18 March 2007.
The competition will showcase a range of winning still images and film, covering a number of abilities, from professional television documentary makers to first-time photographers. All finalists will be exhibited during the Go Diving! show, which is part of the Outdoors Show (www.theoutdoorsshow.co.uk).
The photographic open stills category is once again being sponsored by dive computer manufacturer Suunto, which is supplying a Suunto D9 and transmitter as first prize, a D6 as second prize and another computer in its range as third prize. A Suunto D9 computer and transmitter will also be presented to the winner of The Suunto Best British Image of Festival.
Other sponsors supplying thousands of pounds worth of prizes include camera manufacturer Sea & Sea, PADI, Mares and Apeks. First prize in the Apeks Liveaboard DVD category is an XTX200 regulator, second prize is an XTX50 regulator and third prize is an XTX20 regulator. Full details of prizes will be confirmed in the coming months. To enter the festival and to find out more, see www.divemagazine.co.uk/BUIF |
