Industry professionals who visit the Florida Keys & Key West DEMA pavilion #1566 can register to win a week-long, dive trip to the Keys during the “Drive and Dive” contest to be held during the show. The prize for two includes dive charters in each Keys region, accommodations, a vehicle to use for one week to travel the Florida Keys Overseas Highway and a full set of ScubaPro dive equipment.

Upon entering the Keys pavilion, visitors should pick up a dive log from any participating Keys exhibitor. Delegates who spend time talking to dive operators in each Keys’ region should get their logbook stamped by the exhibitor. After conversing with at least one exhibitor in each of five Keys regions, delegates officially enter the contest by bringing their stamped logbook to the Keys tourism council stand, situated in the middle of the pavilion.

The first 500 industry professionals who register will receive a limited edition, United States Postal Service-sanctioned “Longest Reef Off the Florida Keys” pin, a reproduction of one of 40 stamps in the USPS series “Wonders of America, Land of Superlatives.”

The “Drive and Dive” contest is being staged in conjunction with Scuba Diving Magazine. The publication is also staging a similar consumer-oriented contest. Divers can win a weeklong trip to the Keys and a full set of ScubaPro dive equipment by visiting the Scuba Diving magazine Web site at http://dive.scubadiving.com/contests/20 ... veanddive/

Florida Keys dive shops exhibiting at DEMA include, from Key Largo, Amy Slate’s Amoray Dive Resort, Horizon Divers, Island Ventures and Quiescence Diving Services.

Representing Islamorada are Conch Republic Divers, Florida Keys Dive Center, Holiday Isle Dive Resort and Tavernier Dive Center.

From Marathon are Abyss Dive Center, Capt. Hook’s Dive Center and Marina, and Tilden’s Scuba Center.

The Lower Keys section features Seaclusive Charters and Dive Key West is to represent the Southernmost City in continental America.

The new Florida Keys History of Diving Museum in Islamorada and soon-to-open Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Eco-Discovery Center in Key West are also exhibiting at the pavilion.

Easy to drive to and home of America’s only living contiguous, coral barrier reef, the Florida Keys attract more than 800,000 divers and snorkelers every year. The clear, warm waters host amazingly diverse populations of marine creatures, including huge schools of reef fish.

The Keys’ trail of artificial reefs offers world-class dives on such well-known shipwrecks as the Spiegel Grove, Bibb, Duane, Eagle, Thunderbolt and Adolphus Busch Senior.
