well - i think i solved most of the horrendous amount of bugs and problems that came with this modules. it is still kind of a "public beta version", so dont scream at me!!! i go kind of "problem blind" on it again - so i think its time to put it up and have you guys look at it, play with it and dont hesitate to alert us of problems and potential useful changes to make it more useful. i am aware of some minor (in my eyes) needed changes - wonder if you guys pick up on the same stuff or i am just going overboard!
so anyway - dont just take it as it is! i have a open ear and a 9mm for any comments handy
by the way - you will find it in the main menu ---> Scuba Market |

by the way - i am off for the weekend relaxing, caving, mountain biking... and maybe cave diving
so please be patient with responses to your comments. have no time to post the first jobs in it - you gotta live with the old temp solution in the pro section til monday i guess
maybe argo or sharki will be around to post, test and rip my work to pieces - if not take a dry run and see whats obviously wrong.... |

looks really nice!
just three things:
- will my details (real name, adress, etc.) be visible to EVERYBODY? because that would make all the privacy nonexistent.
- also, my adress for example is no employer's business. if they want it, they should have to ask me for it. mandatory personal information on this board should just be full name, email adress (that shouldn't be openly visible either!) and maybe member number with the training association...
- will there be an option for uploading a cv in file-form or anything?
- if people could post general questions (not individual payments or anything) in forum-form to the prospective employers, questions could be adressed for all to see...
other than that, really sweet concept
now we'll just need to spread the word to dc's out there to put their jobs in here aas well instead of just the padi forum for example... |

hi m8, as for name and and stuff - will it be visible to everybody, no not really it will be viz to potential employers. also, even if it states required, you can pretty much fill in info you dont like to give at this point with a simple n/a or sth like that. you just cant leave the field blank. it is basically up to you how much info you like to provide.
as for the uploadable cv, no - we decided against that option. the reason is simply that by experience of friends of us it gets abused for spam in all kind of forms. we dont have the monitoring power to follow up on each uploaded cv. so you have to live with the idea of filling out the provided form. by the way, you dont really need to do so (as mentioned above) as long as you just want to access the joboffers, if you decide to actively put yourself "on the market" with a cv - well it is up to you again how much info you like to provide initially.
as for the question form - there the employer could argue at the same level like you . i think it isnt really needed - if youre interested in a particular job and like additional info, you contact the potential employer. also (out of my own experience as employer) once i posted a job, i dont really monitor my post closely (one has more to do ) but read the incoming responses. so i dont think it is a very useful option on a job board.
and now last but not least - we have the first bugs showing up (so please dont spread the word too much yet) trying to sort them out - hopefully without taking the section down again for fix ups. the programmer is unfortunately not very responsive with solutions to it and with my limited php knowledge i start to get stuck .
let me know if youre a php "wiz kid" could need some additional input at the moment, frank is of the face of this earth and argo is as clever as i am |
