The Utila Marine Research Center (UMRC) now has it's own dedicated premises on Utila, the owners of Utila Dive Centre have donated ground floor, prominent space, for researchers to gather information, store data, and educate visitors to Utila about the delicate marine environment and behavioural habits of creatures like the 'rough tooth' dolphin and the majestic Whale shark.
The UMRC will be set up in it's new facility by the end of October and in the meantime will be offering the following programs;
Coral Garden rejuvenation workshop and practical sessions on Utilas reefs
* 5 PADI Specialty program with amphasis on environment Distinctive specialty training in Dolphin and Whale shark behaviour (see news below) with additional surveys
* Sponsorship of particpiant projects that will benefit the environment of Utila
