I discovered the Brac in 1994 and loved my stay in the timeshare units. Returned many times over the years to a great dive staff and made some nice friends there too. Lots of great memories including riding out Hurricane Mitch in '98 in a third floor unit before it verred off to devestate Honduras. I was looking for some blog on the closure of the Divi Tiara when I found your website. I hadn't been back for a visit to the Brac since my Hurricane Mitch experience instead diving in Bonaire, Turks & Caicos.
Receiving that letter from Divi on Sat 9/23/06 the last day of business for the hotel was true to form for Divi. It is sad to think that beautiful low key resort is dark and empty and the tiki bar has gone silent. Looking forward to the exchanges on this site. If I can't get in the water or be on the water at least here I can talk about the water.

Hi, wellcome to the board, never dove the brac was in Bonaire for 9 months working, great place shame I left really but thats life never going back always moving forward.......... Have fun and If you don't find what your looking for just shout !! Very Happy

It might not stay dark. "Divemaster" Craig has put a proposal to Divi to lease the dive operation plus two of the boats, and market the timeshares. Or maybe someone will buy the whole operation. I hope something pans out.
